PREFACE:

                The epic 'Ramayana' has seen many wonderful characters who deserve several words of appreciation because of their noble attitude. Two among them are Janaka and Sunaina who are the parents of Goddess Sita and her younger sibling Urmila. In spite of being the King of Mithila, Janaka has been a modest person and insists his family to be so. His daughters completed their education in a normal school where other children in the town also used to go to. Thus Goddess Sita and Urmila are entirely created with good virtues as "Sita" and "Urmila" only because of her parents. This is an imaginary letter written by Sita and Urmila to their parents as a sign of thanksgiving for their devotion to raising their daughters. The idea of writing this letter is the similarity between Goddess Sita's family and ours since we are also a family of four with parents and two daughters. Here my thoughts are portrayed as told by Sita and Urmila, assuming myself as Sita and my younger sister as Urmila. 

Our dear Janaka and Sunaina,

                In this letter we are not going to start by asking you “How are you?” or “How do you do” - because we know that you are always fine and perfect. We decided to write this letter in the honor of the great way in which you brought up your two girl children. Usually, parents consider their children as a great treasure and the children are so. I feel that this letter should be read by all the parents since it is unique from the conventional way of writing a letter to the parents by the children. Everybody considers that bringing up a child is so easy. The truth is that this statement is an imposter, which deceives people into believing in this. But I am sure that you are not misled by this deceiver. 

  

 

                Most of the prayers for the parents would be like, "God, kindly keep my child away from the burdens and hurdles in his life". Unlike this, your prayers are like, "God, please give enough strength to my child to bear the burden and to succeed in their life." From this, I can understand that you created the platform to practical life in which we would face different situations. After hearing your prayer, some may think that you are so cruel to us. Yet I understand your thoughts very well: "An Idol cannot be created without the proper works of chisel and hammer".

 

 

                The main aspect, which you thought, is how a girl should be and how she should not be. You sowed the seeds of feminism and we got the meaning too. It has become a hard thing to explain the correct meaning of feminism. Nowadays it is being abused by many women of the world, especially by the fake feminists. The silver screen has also framed the abstract of feminism as a liquor-drinking woman and a girl with a packet of cigarettes in her pocket. In addition to this, a drug addict and an enraged woman are portrayed as real feminists with invincible valor. But the path you showed us is precious: a girl never needs a glass of wine, a couple of cigarettes, packet of drugs or abusive words to display herself as a courageous person. The simple thing women need to have is to be mentally stable and physically strong, since the majority of the problems are created by them to affect themselves.

 

 

                The second major thing is living in a fantasy world of dreams, which are impossible and absurd things. It mainly consists of the preparations to display them beautifully and contemplating about their future partner. Finally, this leaves them in despair when their expectations are not met. They are liable to make some undesirable decisions, which may even end their life at all. The reason for this situation is quite simple: it is nothing but raising the children without knowing the hurdles and obstacles that one should face in his/her life. When reality strikes suddenly, they become out of mind and they are left in a room that lacks a wise brain and calm mind. Fortunately, you raised us in the correct zone.

                Every person in this world is capable of doing marvelous deeds, which can enrich and empower the society. All the youngsters have to be taught this moral. Thankfully, we are enlightened by you. It is uncertain to have a dream or an expectation whether we will find our Rama and Lakshmana in future. However, we can be there your Sita and Urmila forever.
